Beit Jonathan

Beit Yehonatan - The house of Jonathan - named for Jonathan Pollard, is one of the 2 "Jewish" buildings in the old Yemenite Village of Shiloach.
In the year 2004, and 66 years after the last Yemenite Jews were forced from the village, Jewish life was reignited in Beit Yehonatan and Beit HaDvash. Today - there are 8 Jewish families, many children and 12-15 students studying in a Kolel (Yehoshua Eliyahu) in the complex. Due to daily attacks by local Arabs on both Beit Yehonatan and Beit HaDvash, there is a real need for numerous security measures including cameras, security guards and steel pergolas on the rooftops. Bullet proof jeeps take the students and families in and out of the village.
